Nonavid Prostate Cancer with Lymph Node Metastases on Positron Emission Tomography
نویسندگان
چکیده
Choline is a new positron emission tomography (PET) tracer useful for detection of prostate cancer and metastatic lesions. We report a 70-year-old man with prostate cancer and multiple abdominal, pelvic, and inguinal node metastases. PET scans demonstrated accumulation of 11 C-choline in the primary tumor and lymph node metastases but no accumulation of 18 FFDG. Choline PET/computed tomography may be useful for diagnosis of advanced prostate cancer with suspected metastatic lesions and treatment planning. © 2016 The Author(s) Published by S. Current standard imaging techniques are insufficient to reliably detect lymph node metastases in prostate cancer. Recently ligands of PSMA (prostate specific membrane antigen) were introduced in PET (positron emission tomography) of prostate cancer. Thus the aims of this retrospective analysis were to 1) investigate the diagnostic efficacy of (68)GaPSMA-PET imaging for lymph node staging in pat...
متن کاملMolecular and Functional Imaging for Detection of Lymph Node Metastases in Prostate Cancer
Knowledge on lymph node metastases is crucial for the prognosis and treatment of prostate cancer patients. Conventional anatomic imaging often fails to differentiate benign from metastatic lymph nodes. Pelvic lymph node dissection is an invasive technique and underestimates the extent of lymph node metastases. Therefore, there is a need for more accurate non-invasive diagnostic techniques. Mole...
متن کاملA Network Meta-Analysis on the Diagnostic Value of Different Imaging Methods for Lymph Node Metastases in Patients With Cervical Cancer
PURPOSE We performed this network meta-analysis to compare the diagnostic value of 4 imaging methods (magnetic resonance imaging, positron emission tomography, computed tomography, and diffusion-weighted imaging) for diagnosing lymph node metastases in cervical cancer. METHOD Diagnostic tests regarding different imaging methods to diagnose lymph node metastases in cervical cancer were retriev...

Experts’ summary: This study reports results for targeted versus extended salvage lymphadenectomy after prostate-specific membrane antigen– targeted positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PSMA-PET/CT) in 30 men with biochemical recurrence of prostate cancer after primary therapy. All men had suspicion of at least one lymph node metastasis. Exclusion criteria were bone or visceral met...
